This is totally off the hook

I’m struck by how it is that someone would think that this “game” is a good idea. Of course, I’m also struck by how it is that people think that violent shoot-em-up video games represent a positive step forward for humanity. (But since I seem to be in the minority about that, I’ll just assume that it’s me that is out of alignment with my culture.) This particular video game, however, defines “off the hook” if anything ever could. I suppose that somebody will argue that this video game could offer potential rapists an outlet so that they don’t have to actually assault someone. But in truth, I don’t think some outside-the-box psychologist is behind this game. I really just want to know who thinks of something like this and then can find him or herself sitting across the table from their mother or sister or daughter sharing a meal.

In any case, check this out. And judging by the first few comments, it’s going to be easy to say “this is sick and disgusting” and then make some anti-Japanese comment. However, it strikes me that this is symptomatic of some larger and deeper process that is occurring in the world and that is connected to us all.

And one more thing…how many of you men reading this would play this game with your male friends and a couple of beers? Honestly.

Coincidentally, Laurie was in a play tonight where SHE talked about bleeding. By the way, that’s her word, not mine.

You’ll have a great many thoughts about this woman that will likely start to shift right around the 2:30 minute point in the video. Clearly this woman can not be easily characterized by the demeanor that mostly comes off throughout this interview — shy, sweet, bookish, friendly, and a little bit self-deprecating. There’s another side to her that probably only emerges when she puts on the pads. I’m curious about what others think about her new job and who she is and what she can (most certainly) do — which is probably dish out some pain.

roxxxy-the-sex-robot
I’m sure there have been more than a few straight women who wished that they had a Roxxxy to take over the bedroom chores when the begging got ugly. But in truth, this is a product that is probably sold to single men more than married men and I’m not really sure what this says about our culture. It seems to me that everyone must be getting plenty of sex because it’s all over our media and we can’t seem to stop talking about it.

That said, I’m curious about what people think about this. To me, it simply points to what I’ve known for at least two decades — that, by and large, men and women have very different sexual and intimacy needs. (Those of you who are straight might want to get on board with what those are before you make any commitments.) This will make the sexual life course journey a lot easier.

But this is also about the avoidance of intimacy. Clearly there are some people who just feel more comfortable with a mechanical person than they do with someone with a personality and a consciousness. Regardless, this article reveals a good deal about who we are as a species. Read the article: “Inventor Unveils $7,000 Talking Sex Robot”
